Mustang Treks

Mustang Treks are trekking journeys through the dry mountain landscapes, ancient villages, and Tibetan Buddhist heritage of Mustang in northern Nepal. Upper Mustang was opened to foreign trekkers in 1994 and includes the historic walled settlement of Lo Manthang, the former capital of the Kingdom of Lo. Upper Mustang includes historic places such as Kagbeni, Chele, Ghami, Charang, and Lo Manthang, the former capital of the Kingdom of Lo. The region lies in the rain shadow of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Spring from March to May and autumn from September to November are the main trekking seasons, while Upper Mustang can also be explored during the monsoon because of its dry rain shadow climate.
