Enjoy morning sunrise views of the Himalayas directly from your hotel. Nagarkot offers spectacular views as the first rays of sun touch the mountains. After breakfast, drive to Bhaktapur, about 20 km and a 45 minute drive. A guided walking tour takes you through four squares in this cultural town, starting at Duttatraya Square, continuing through local bazaars and Taumadhi Square, past the pottery square, and finally arriving at the main 55 window Palace Durbar Square.

From Bhaktapur, drive 45 minutes to Pashupatinath Temple. Your guide leads a walk through the temple vicinity, starting at Tilganga, passing the funeral ghats and a viewpoint, through the main temple complex, and ending at the car park on the northern side, a linear route designed so you do not need to walk back the same way.

From Pashupatinath, a short 15 minute drive brings you to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the most visited sites in Kathmandu. Enjoy spinning the prayer wheels, explore nearby monasteries, and visit a rooftop for a spectacular photograph of the stupa, timed by your guide to avoid harsh light. A rooftop restaurant here can also be a great lunch spot. From Boudhanath, drive to your hotel in Thamel, the main tourist hub of Kathmandu, for your overnight stay.

                  Know Before You Book

                  • Visa Requirements: All citizens of the world except Indian passport holders need a visa to enter Nepal, and most travelers can get a Visa on Arrival. A 15 day tourist visa fee is USD 30, which comfortably covers your 8 day trip. We recommend completing the online visa application in advance to save time at the airport.
                  • Passport Validity: Please make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from your arrival date, with at least one blank page for your visa stamp.
                  • Fitness Level: This is an easy family trip with regular sightseeing, guided walks, and gentle temple hill walks. No previous hiking or trekking experience is required, and it is well suited for children and senior family members.
                  • Travel Insurance: Travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and flight delays is recommended, particularly given the domestic flight segments and any optional adventure activities.
                  • Currency & Payment Methods: We accept payments in major currencies such as USD, EUR, and GBP, though it is a good idea to carry some Nepali Rupees for smaller personal expenses.

                  Accommodation, Meals & Transportation

                  • Typical Accommodation Used: Club Himalaya Nagarkot, a hotel in Thamel Kathmandu, a resort in Chitwan, and a hotel at Lakeside Pokhara.

Winter is also excellent for clear Himalayan views from Kathmandu, Nagarkot, and Sarangkot.
                  • Winter Conditions: Winter brings cool mornings and evenings, particularly in Nagarkot and Sarangkot, but days are generally sunny and clear, ideal for mountain viewing.
                  • Monsoon Conditions: During the monsoon season, expect regular rainfall and occasional cloud cover that may limit mountain views, though Chitwan's jungle and Pokhara's hills become lush and green.

                  Health & Safety

                  • General Wellbeing: The highest point on this trip is approximately 2,100 m in Nagarkot, and the itinerary does not involve high altitude trekking, so altitude related concerns are minimal for families.
                  • Healthcare Facilities: Full hospital facilities are available in Kathmandu and Pokhara, with basic medical support accessible in Chitwan and Nagarkot.
