Itinerary

We meet you at the Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, with your name on paper. And transfer to Hotel, 20min Drive.

At 5pm, we will introduction event at your hotel. Introduction to guide & guests. 

    Morning Breakfast at the Hotel. Kathmandu cultural sightseeing. Sightseeing of Monkey temple - Chadragiri Hill station on cable car - Kathmandu Durbar Square & old markets of Ason & indrachowk. 

    At 9am drive to Swayambhunath Temple - the Visit Monkey temple - 30min drive. As we arrive at the bottom of the temple (Bhagwan Pau = feet of the God), It will be a great experience to walk to the top of the temple hill, as it also offers great views of the Kathmandu Valley on a clear day. And normally Kathmandu is. very clear in winter as Kathmandu is located at 1350 meters altitude. Monkey temple is a Buddha temple, some 20min drive away from the hotel and about 10min walk to the top. It is an ancient Buddha period temple in north-western Kathmandu. We will pay a visit to the main Stupa and other temples in the temple complexes. Four of many stupas are dated from the ancient period. Alongside, also enjoy the panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley and Himalayas in the northern side. The tour will be about 1and half hour to explore the temples and visiting monasteries (where children monks live and study). After the Monkey temple tour, drive Patan Durbar Square - 30min drive.

    Patan Durbar Square - 45min drive -At Patan, we will visit and explore the Patan Durbar, Palace courtyards, temples and a golden water tap inside Palace, a fine art museum, Krishna Temple, Bhimsen Temple. All these temples are within the Palace Square and within a small area. We will also visit the Golden temple and drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square  - 30min ride. 

    Kathmandu Durbar Square is the medieval Palace square and home to dozens of temples including living goddess Kumari Temple, an Old Nepali style Palace and a classical palace. It has been the main center of cultural and financial activities in Nepal since ancient times. At Kathmandu Durbar Square also called Basantapur Durbar Square we will visit Kasthamandap Temple (temple of wood and recently restored after 2015 earthquake), Maru Ganesh, Kumari Temple, Shiva and Vishnu temple (under renovation after earthquake), Classical Palace, Kalbhairav Statue and Akash Vairab Statue, Hanuman Dhaka Palace courtyards (main palace with Newari wooden architectures), Taleju Temple (distant sight since it very sacred temple and open only one day in a year), a small museum portraying earthquake devastations and other temples. Kathmandu Durbar Square also offers great Coffee places. It will be about 2-3 hours of walking around the Palace square. 

    From Kathmandu Durbar Square, a new tour experience will start - that is a rickshaw tour to the oldest part of town in Kathmandu from the Hotel through the oldest markets of Ason and IndraChowk. The iconic rickshaw tour (the main means of transport for tourists around Kathmandu Durbar Square and Thamel since the 1960s) will take about 30min and will go through the old market. Ason and Indrachowk are the places where Nepalis find everything they need from Noon to Soon (literally salt to gold).Overnight at same Hotel. 

      Breakfast at Hotel & Shivapuri National Park hiking day! Breakfast at the Hotel & at 8am take a 30min drive towards the north from Hotel at 8am in the morning. Shivapuri top is 2700m high & offers great views of Langtang and Ganesh Himal Views. It will be a long trekking day of 6hrs - 15km in total. Shivapuri national park is the home for rare red pandas as well as many species of birds and mountain tigers. It will be a beautiful day. Please do not forget to bring your water bottle, some nuts to chew while sweating on an uphill hike.

      Return back to the hotel about 3pm. Rest, relax & Overnight at the Hotel. 

      At 6pm - drive to Pashupatinath temple - 5 (less than 5min drive - just next to) min drive to watch the evening Aarati at Bagmati river (small river) bank & observe the temple complexes. We will also observe the open cremation ceremony going on at the river bank. This will be a cultural sightseeing and  you will have the image of Hindu community during life & after death.

      Pashupatinath temple is a Hindu shrine and most visited temple in the country. It is a Lord Shiva (Shiva literally means that god which is not: formless) temple. Shiva is also the greatest guru for all the yogis (who traditionally believe in yoga and meditation and live an ascetic life). So we see a lot of colorful Yogis here. At the Bagmati River bank we also get to see the Hindu death rituals. Everyday and every moment, many dead bodies are being burnt in the open air. Tourists basically see them across the holy river (just small steam). Pashupatinath temple is the earliest human settlement in Kathmandu Valley. Pashupatinath literally means lord (Pati/Nath) of all the living beings (Pashu). Yogis normally explain it as the consciousness which guides us every moment and prevailing in all the beings. Some interesting activities will include taking photographs with yogis, observing death rituals (before burns there are some rituals family members do), walk through deer park and temple park on the other side hill and observe the main two storied Pashupatinath temple from view point across the river. Overnight at same hotel.

        7am breakfast & drive to Trishuli river - 90KM - 3hrs drive - the rafting starting point. Probably right from the hotel, please wear clothes which you want to wear while in the river : t-shirts, half pants & slippers. 2-3hrs rafting in Trishuli river.

        Further drive to Meghauli, Chitwan for late Lunch - 80KM - 2hrs drive. Late afternoon, Tharu village walks around the river bank with sunset views. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. 

          Morning Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast, Elephant Safari or take a Jeep drive to the National park. Chitwan national park is home mainly to Royal Bangel Tiger, One horned rhinos and elephants among hundreds of birds, reptiles, and animals. Winter is a great season to spot wild animals as they come out from the bushes for sunbathing. The Elephant safari or jeep drive is about 2-3 hours. Lunch at the hotel. After lunch in the late afternoon, canoeing at Rapti river & exploring elephant breeding centers. Dinner & Overnight at the hotel. 

            Breakfast and at 9am drive to  Bandipur - 100KM - 3hrs drive. Check in at Old Inn Bandipur : a traditional style boutique Hotel in the heart of Bandipur bazaar. Bandipur bazaar is such a nice and quiet walking bazaar where no vehicles are allowed (actually no roads are constructed there). In the afternoon after lunchtime, take a walking tour of Bandipur bazaar and Bandipur hill - 1hrs walking tour. Overnight at the Old Inn Bandipur.

              A guided walk to the Bandipur Hill which is a 45min early morning hike and the hill top offers just amazing views of the Manaslu-Annapurna Himalayan Range with 360 degree valley views. It is also a great place to see the sunrise. After photographing and resting, walk back (down) to the hotel - 20min. Breakfast at the Hotel and and still walk around the beautiful bazaar. Our next destination is Pokhara and it is only 80 KM from Bandipur. At 10am, check out at Old Inn and drive to Pokhara with a short stop at Begnas lake (15min side trip from highway). It is another lake in Pokhara just before reaching the main town north of the highway. It is a natural spring water lake spreading at about 4KM square on surface. 

              Drive to Annapurna View Hotel at Sarangkot - 30min drive. Annapurna view hotel offers great view of the Annapurna Himalayan ranges, Pokhara valley & other valleys. The hotel has 360 degree view, is well run & maintained by Japanese management. Check in at the Hotel, enjoy the views & relax. Overnight at the Annapurna View Sarangkot.

                Morning sunrise view and views of the Himalayas from your hotel room. Breakfast at the hotel - at 9am, an easy hike to Kaskikot - 3hrs hike in total. Enjoy the magnificent views of Annapurna Himalayas & Pokhara Valley! Same Hotel. 

                  Breakfast & with luggalges cable car down to Phewa lake bank in Pokhara - 10min. Optionally you could also take a 30min paragliding experience town to city from near your hotel. It incurs USD 70 per person extra costs. Check in at the hotel & Pokhara sightseeing. 

                  Take a boat across the phewa lake & hike unto the Pumdikot Shiva temple via World Peace Pagoda - about 2hrs hiking with our friendly & professional guide. Enjoy the views & drive back to city - 30min drive. Visit Gepteshwar cave, Tibetan camp, & international mountain museum. Have your lunchtime at Lakeside Pokhara.  Explore the lakeside bazaar and overnight at lakeside, Pokhara. 

                    Breakfast at the Hotel. Fly back to Kathmandu - 30min flight in the mid - morning at 9am. As you arrive Kathmandu airport - drive to Changu Narayan Temple - 45min Drive. Changu is the oldest standing temple in Kathmandu from the 5th century. 

                    Changunayaran temple is home to ancient period stone statues and scripts on stone. This is also the oldest script found readable in Kathmandu Valley (early 5th century) which tells us about the erection of Changunarayan temple by king Manadev. Thus the temple is the oldest standing in Kathmandu Valley. The temple complex also houses some stone statues from ancient times mainly of the gods related to lord Vishnu (narayan) and his various reincarnations. It will be a precious moment to visit the archeological very important temple complex. 

                    Visit Change Temple then drive to Bhaktapur - 5Km - 15min drive. Bhaktapur literally means the city of devotees (Bhaktas) and the people of Bhaktapur until now have fully lived to their traditions. This is also the place which celebrates most festivals over the years. The main attractions for tourists  to explore in Bhaktapur are the traditional Newari lifestyles, Newari architectural buildings including dozens of temples and houses, pottery works, and walking through narrow alleys. We will walk and explore through Golden Gate, 55 window main Palace, Taleju temple, medieval water tap, Shiva temples, the famous Nyatopola (5 storied) Temple, Pottery square and Duttatraya Square among dozens of other small temples. Beside visiting temples, small coffee time on one of the rooftop restaurants which will offer a great view of the whole city area, is great fun. From Bhaktapur - drive to  Dhulikhel Resort - 45min drive. Overnight at Dhulikhel.

                      Enjoy sunrise views & views of the Himalayas! Morning Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Panauti tentative UNESCO site & Namobuddha Monastery. Explore and enjoy the Buddhist traditional noon puja at the monastery. Explore the monastery temples and make a short walk. Drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at Thamel, Kathmandu. 

                        Drive to the airport 3 hrs before your flight time. Guests will have individual airport transfers according to your flight time.
