This is 2 nights/3 days lodge hiking. The hiking trail covers Eastern Kathmandu valley rim. Recently TAAN has unveiled a new trekking trail from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel which makes it easy for trekkers to walk on defined trail. A three-day lodge trek that makes an arc to the eastern valley rim through the famed vantage points of Dhulikhel and Nagarkot. This 3 days eastern Kathmandu valley hiking Starts from the ancient Newar town of Panauti. From here the trail ascends gently to Dhulikhel, visiting the monastery at Namo Buddha en route. Next day, the trail goes through a forested ridge with magnificent views. The trail continues to Nagarkot. On the third day walking, the trail descends to Sankhu. This is historical and religious medieval village. Here the hiking ends. |

Day 1: Drive to Panauti (4,800' / 1,464m). Sight-seeing of the ancient Panauti village. After exploring the town, hike to Dhulikhel (4,920' / 1,500m). The famous Buddhist monastery Namo Buddha lays en the route.
Day 2: Trek to Nagarkot (6,510' / 1,985m) via Nala. Nala is a cultural village in eastern Kathmandu. O/N in Nagarkot.
Day 3: Early morning sunrise view from Nagarkot, making horizon of snow-capped mountains. After B/F trek to Sankhu (4,530' / 1,382m). It is about 4 hours of walking trail. This is ethnic village with cultural recognition. From here, drive back to Kathmandu. |
