Everest Base Camp Trek - 17 days
Trip Introduction
Everest trekking region is famous for Sherpa villages, home of the world's highest Buddhist monasteries, and the Mount Everest. To touch the Everest land, we have package program of The Everest Base Camp Trek. It is probably the most famous in the world. Nothing is more spectacular than the Mount Everest and Everest region. Thus, we suggest you to choose Everest region and our itinerary of 17 days Everest base camp trek for ultimate adventure and lifetime experience.

The 17 days Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary offers you the trekking route which led Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa to the top of the world in 1953. The best things you get to encounter are high mountain monasteries, the typical Sherpa culture, and the magnificent Mount Everest itself. Here you will sense the nature’s power of heavenly bliss.
 

Itinerary for Everest Base Camp Trek

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, we receive you at the airport and accompany you to the Hotel. In the evening you will have a welcome dinner at a traditional Nepalese Restaurant.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sight-seeing
Today is the day to make full preparation of whole trekking program as itinerary. Further more you can utilize this day for Kathmandu valley sight-seeing.

Day 03: Kathmandu-Lukla - Phakding; 3-4 hour trek time
After an early morning flight (40 min flight) to Lukla (2,800m), the trekking starts. From Lukla you'll pass Chaurikharka village and make a descent towards the Dudhkosi Ghat (2,530m/8,300ft). The trail follows the bank of the Dudhkosi River to Phakding (2,652m). This first day is short.

Day 04: Phakding - Namche Bazaar: 5-6 hour
The trail crosses Dudhkoshi River, you will walk through beautiful pine forest. The trail leads you along the river to Hilary's Suspension Bridge. Today en route you will see first view of the Mt Everest . The trail further climbs to Namche Bazaar which is the gate way to Mt. Everest and is the main trading centre of this region.Overnight in Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,284ft).

Day 05: Namche Bazaar: Rest day
This is then day of 'acclimatization'. on the rest day, you can hike aroung Namche Bazaar or explore Namche Bazaar itself. It's the main centre of the Khumbu region and has shops, restaurants, a bakery and a colorful market each Saturday.

Day 06: Namche Bazaar - Khumjung: 4 hour
Today we trek through Shyangboche airstrip. Overnight in Khumjung (3,810m/12,500ft).

Day 07:  Khumjung - Tengboche: 4-5 hour
En route the trail will descend slightly to Dudhkoshi at 3250m. You will pass the famous Tengboche Gompa, which has background of Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest and other peaks.

Day 08: Tengboche - Dingboche: 5-6 hour
The trail slightly descents through lush forestin the beginning, then gradually climbs up to the valleys highest year round settlement of Pangboche (3,860m/12,664ft). you will continue ascending in the afternoon through alpine meadows and yak herds, finally reaching to Dingboche.

Day 09: Dingboche - Duglha: 3-4 hour
Today is a climb to Duglha (4,620m/15,158ft) where we will stay overnight to complete acclimatization. From here there are stunning views of Tawachee and Cholatse (64440m).

Day 10: Duglha - Lubuche: 2-4 hour
The trail ascends from Duglha directly to the Khumbu Glacier for an hour, then lead you to the village of Lubuche (4,930m/12,894ft).

Day 11: Lubuche -  Everest Base Camp - Gorak Shep: 5-6 hour
The trail climbs to Gorak Shep, which ultimately leads you finally to the Everest Base Camp (5,357m/17,575ft). The walking trail is  rocky and glacial.The climbers gather here for summiting Everest. On the same day,  you will return to Gorak Shep (5,160m/16,929ft) for overnight.

Day 12: Gorak Shep - Kala Pattar - Lubuche: 6-7 hour
Today early morning your guide will take you up to the Kala Pattar. Its a two hours to walk to the famous viewing point of Kala Pattar (Black Rock) at 5,545m/18,192ft. From here, you can the ever best views of Mt. Everest, Pumori and Ama Dablam without climbing them. After breakfast you will continue the trek we'll return to Lobuje (4930m/12894ft) for overnight.

Day 13: Lubuche - Pangboche: 5-6 hour
The trek retraces halfway back and lunch at Pheriche. Finally the trek ends at Pangboche (3,860m/12,664ft), which lies on the bank of Imja Khola.In Pangboche, there is one of the oldest Buddhist monastery and village.

Day 14: Pangboche - Namche Bazaar: 5-6 hour
The trail retraces the same way back, stopping at Tengboche. During November-December full moon the colorful Mani Rimdu festival is held here with much singing and dancing. Overnight in Namche Bazaar (3,400m/11,286ft).

Day 15: Namche Bazaar - Phakding: 5-6 hour
Today the trail steeply descends to the Hillary Suspension Bridge and then continues on an easy natural trail. Overnight in Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft).

Day 16: Phakding - Lukla: 3-4 hour
And finally today you will arrive in Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft). Upon arriving in Lukla you will have time to relax and refresh.

Day 17: Lukla - Kathmandu

Today you fly back to Kathmandu. You'll have free time in Kathmandu which you can utilize for shopping and visiting local touristic places. In the evening you will enjoy dinner.

Note: The flights to Lukla is subject to weather. Normally in Sep-Dec and march-June the weather is ok.   Thus, we always recommend you to add one supplement night in Kathmandu after your base camp trek if possible. You might use the day for shopping or one day valley sight-seeing , if there is no weather problem.
